Castro, Meralco Vice President and Head of South Distribution Services; and Gary F. Festin, Assistant Vice President and Head of Dasmariñas Sector.
The towns of Amadeo, Indang and Mendez-Nuñez recently joined the ranks of other municipalities in Cavite that have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Meralco under its Energizing Partnerships Program (EPP) which aims to spur progress through collaboration with local government units. Mendez-Nuñez Mayor Fredderick Vida said the MOU will allow their LGUs to plan developments ahead for efficient and reliable service to their constituents. Meralco and the LGUs will be working on disaster preparedness and safety activities, and projects like the extension of power facilities for a new high school and a municipal hall, and upgrading to solar photovoltaic system through Meralco’s subsidiary Spectrum, to name a few. Strategic utility planning between each municipality and Meralco will also be carried out where the town’s development plans and corresponding power requirements will be discussed and aligned with the power utility’s electrical capital projection.
